Catching a break at the end of my ministry year, I headed out for some much needed rest. I escape to the coast. It is my respite. My sanctuary, solace. I sit in the cleft of a rock. I am hidden away in the solid fortress of my God. The Lord sustains me. He is my Rock. I come to the ocean a desert. I feel each wave crashes over my parched soul. He is replenishing me. I am a child of God and my ability comes from Him. He protects me like a Mama seagull guards her nest, he makes me lie down like a sea otter on a warm rock. He restores my soul.
